Important informations
- Jalapão is a region of roads and trails that are difficult to access that demand effort from vehicles, for this reason and for safety reasons, we always travel at reduced speed. Even so, breakdowns can occur, situations that may require the use of third-party vehicles for support and transport. This can take time, leading to delays and changes to the script. In this way, the itinerary and vehicles can be changed whenever the company deems it necessary without prior notice, always aiming to preserve the safety and well-being of travelers and the team.
- What to bring: medium flashlight with extra batteries; 2 bath towels (1 for bathing and one for walking); repellent; sunscreen; sneakers; footwear for canoeing (papete, croc, something with a sole that is attached to the foot); light pants (tactel preferred); long-sleeved shirt (for sun protection); light sweatshirt, as the temperature drops at dusk (from May to September); 1 swim trunks / bikini; slipper; sunglasses and toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc…); medicines for personal use. e.g. painkillers, anti-allergy, medicine for nausea, etc. ATTENTION: there are no pharmacies in the region and the local receptionist and their employees cannot medicate their guests.
- Accommodation - each tent accommodates two people. There is an option for larger and family tents (for up to 4 people, check availability)
- Vaccinations - for any place in the North and Midwest regions, there is a recommendation for the traveler to be vaccinated against yellow fever. The application of the vaccine must be done 10 days in advance of the trip at health centers and is now valid for life.
- Power - there is no electricity (so as not to make the sky shine). In the tents there are small lamps powered by solar energy, which illuminate locally and only help you to find your way around.
- Cellular signal and other means of communication - at Safari Camp there is no cell signal, only in some parts of Jalapão it is possible to reach Vivo and Oi signal. Thus, it is normal to have a few days without signal during the trip.
- Electronic equipment - in the camp it is possible to carry equipment such as cameras and camcorders. Use is however limited to the generator operating hours. We advise you to take extra batteries and chargers to recharge your equipment.
- If you are an unaccompanied traveler and buy only 1 seat, you will share the tent with another traveler of the same sex
- The tours in the script are easy, but the ascent of Mirante da Serra is medium level and involves great physical effort, not being recommended for people with heart problems, advanced age or sedentary. These clients should stay at the safari camp enjoying the wonderful Novo River and its trails in the surroundings.
